Today

To You My Friends,

My name is Michael Myers, and as many of you already know, I'm a candidate for the Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District (SID) January 2026 Board Election

As Election Day approaches, I want to share more about what this campaign is truly about — protecting and preserving the heart of Cherokee Village: our lakes, golf courses, recreation centers, and all the amenities that make this community so special. Over the past months, our campaign has grown stronger, and I’m deeply grateful for the encouragement, goodwill, and thoughtful conversations I’ve had with so many property owners. The growing momentum reflects our shared belief that Cherokee Village’s best days can still be ahead if we approach our challenges with facts, cooperation, and clear-eyed dedication.

Cherokee Village faces important decisions about how to sustain its amenities for the long term. To encourage open, informed discussion, I’ve published a detailed paper titled “Preserving Cherokee Village Amenities: A Critical Examination of Strategies for Sustainable Stewardship.” It presents nine possible approaches—some viable, others less so—for protecting and revitalizing our shared assets. These ideas range from creating a Property Owners Association (POA) or new Improvement District to city transfer to exploring state-level legislative reforms, reassessments, targeted levies, or even doing nothing and allowing the 2021 settlement to play out.

Preserving Cherokee Village Amenities – A Critical Examination of Strategies for Sustainable Stewardship

This study isn’t a list of endorsements, but a framework for sincere, fact-based community dialogue. Each approach is evaluated in terms of legality, sustainability, and impact on property owners. While some paths might offer promise, others could jeopardize our financial stability or the integrity of our amenities. What matters most is that we approach these choices with transparency, reason, and genuine care for the community’s long-term health.

I have spent the last few years researching our SID structure, the 2021 settlement, and Arkansas law governing suburban improvement districts because I believe leadership means doing the hard work before decisions are made. That’s the kind of board member I intend to be — one who studies the details, weighs the data, and works tirelessly to ensure that Cherokee Village remains stable, strong, and sustainable.

And at the same time, we should never forget what first drew many of us here. For decades, people who truly loved Cherokee Village gave their time, energy, and warmth to build this community and welcome others to it. They saw the Village not just as a place to live and visit, but as a promise — a small-town dream built on friendship, recreation, and respect for nature. Their example and legacy is a powerful reminder that protecting Cherokee Village isn’t just about policies and assessments — it’s about spirit, cooperation, and neighborly pride. That’s the legacy I want to carry forward on your behalf.

So as we look toward Election Day — January 16, 2026 — I ask for your support and your vote. Let’s strengthen what we have, make wise choices about our future, and ensure that Cherokee Village remains a shining example of what a well-planned, well-cared-for community can be.

If you’d like a yard sign, have questions about voting and early voting that starts on January 5th, or wish to talk more about these nine strategies or the future of our SID, please reach out anytime —

Today

To You My Friends

Friends,

I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to reach out personally to share some news. I’m running for a board seat on the Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District (SID). If you’ve ever heard me talk about Cherokee Village, you know how much I care about this community—its lakes, golf courses, and the people who make it special.

I first came to Cherokee Village in 1973 when I was nine years old. I’ve been a property owner and homeowner for over 20 years now. My family is deeply invested in this community, and I’d like to give back in a meaningful way. Many of you have described me as level-headed, reasonable, and rational—qualities I’ll bring to the SID board as we work to ensure sustainability and transparency across all of our amenities.

Cherokee Village’s lakes and golf courses are the backbone of our community, and I will always fight to keep them vibrant and protected. Their stability benefits all property owners and helps to lift all property values in the village.

I have real experience leading volunteer organizations responsibly—making decisions that benefit the community as a whole, not for just a few. That’s the same approach I’ll take on this board: practical leadership focused on what’s best for all property owners.

I’d truly appreciate your support in this election. Please reach out - call, text, or email me anytime at 870-617-9303 or 870‑667‑6448 or myersforcvsid@gmail.com - if you’d like to talk more or ask questions. Let’s keep Cherokee Village strong and sustainable, together.

Thank you,

Michael Myers
